POLICE swarmed round an Oxford flat and barged through the front door in a dramatic drugs raid this afternoon.
Officers tweeted a photo of a battered blue door in Lake Street off Abingdon Road, splintered and torn from where they smashed through.
It said the picture was of "remnants of a door from a drugs warrant."
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said he was not surprised to hear about the raid in which one man was allegedly arrested.
He said: "Police have been here before. It's a nice street but there are just a very small handful of people who spoil it. It will be a relief if it is successful.
"It's been the same pattern of events in the years I have been here. There are some comings and goings during the daytime and at night in the really late hours, about 3-4am. Many people in the district have complained. I do not always feel safe.
"Last year the council and police held a meeting because residents were so fed up about drug dealing and use in the area."
Other residents reported seeing at least two police cars and an unmarked van crowd round the flat at about 12.30pm.
Thames Valley Police is yet to confirm if an arrest was made.
