TV watchdog Ofcom is to investigate sex scenes from hit show Love Island involving Oxfordshire girl Emma-Jane Woodham.
The 19-year-old from Begbroke was seen romping with Terry Walsh, 28, in a scene broadcast minutes after the watershed on July 1.
Out of one million viewers who saw the scenes on ITV2 eight complained to Ofcom that they were broadcast too close to the 9pm watershed.
Ofcom yesterday confirmed it had launched an investigation.
A spokesman said: "This programme included sexual material shortly after the watershed.
"We're investigating whether the transition to more adult content was unduly abrupt."
But ITV said the scenes were "inexplicit" and confirmed the company would respond to Ofcom's investigation.
Ms Woodham, a trainee project manager, left the show on July 8.
