IT is not every Thursday night that you will see clouds of red, white and blue streak the evening sky.

But residents across the county were treated to the unexpected spectacle this week when the RAF Red Arrows flew over homes  in a surprise display.

Allison Lloyd managed to get a video of them flying over Long Hanborough.

And Cyrus Mower captured the moment on his camera as he was sitting down to supper with his wife, Delphine.

The 44-year-old photographer said: "We were just looking forward to having a bit of supper in our back garden.

"We were cooking and then I heard the sound of jet engines and I just through it was just some type of plane but then my wife called out and said it was the arrows.

"It was about a 15 to 20 minute display - it was like having our own private air show."

Mr Mower said the planes took to the sky at about 7pm and thought they were heading in the direction of Blenheim Palace.

He added: "They were doing the whole show, they had the smoke going it was just a great treat to end the day."
