WHAT a wonderful time of year to be stuck in traffic on the A34.
The orchids are in full flower on the verges of our carriageways.
With people’s fast food detritus less evident under summer’s grasses and wild flowers, blossoming pyramidal, common spotted and southern marsh orchids make the crawling commute past Hinksey Hill something to savour, and take a little of the edge off daily Brexit news.
