POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses after a fight broke out at a private party at a community centre.

Thames Valley Police sent officers to West Oxford Community Centre on Botley Road at 10pm on Saturday.

One eyewitness told the Oxford Mail he saw a large group of young people stood around outside the centre and several police cars parked in their midst.

Police spokesman James Williams said: "We would appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward."

He said no-one had been arrested in connection with the fight.

The centre's website showed its bookings on Saturday as a "jazz brunch" at lunchtime and a "private booking" from 6pm to midnight.
