UNFAZED youngsters from a Blackbird Leys dance troupe have responded in kind after coming under fire from controversial commentator Katie Hopkins.

Elite Squad Royalz appeared on TV screens across the country this month after wowing judges in the audition stage of ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

The team of 13, part of ten-year-old dance school Messy Jam, were criticised by the Daily Mail columnist on Twitter over their performance on Saturday, April 9.

Moments after their dance, Ms Hopkins wrote: "Please let that be the only hideous kids dancing troop [sic] we are forced to endure #BGT".

Following the audition, which saw them gain four 'Yes' votes, members of Elite Squad responded to a number of Twitter comments - including hers - on Youtube.

Ten-year-old Luca Tong was chosen to read out Ms Hopkins' tweet. Dressed in full beefeater costume, he said: "That's probably the worst tweet we've had so far, Katie.

"So thank you. I really mean it. But one question: Why would you want to write something so mean to kids? If you're aiming to put us down, it's not working one bit."

Dancers also thanked people that had supported them on Twitter with tweets including "Totally LOVED #EliteSquad", "Elite Squad Royalz are awesome" and "We all know that's how the Queen really dances behind closed doors".
