THE family of stabbing victim Justin Skrebowski have said he was "deeply caring husband" and a "proud and loving father".

In a statement released this afternoon members of the family said Mr Skrebowski, 61, stabbed to death at Poundland in Abingdon on Monday morning, appreciated all the sympathy they had been shown.

But they have also asked for people to leave them to a "quiet period of mourning" while they try to come to terms with the tragedy that has left the whole of Abingdon shocked.

Oxford Mail:

They said: "On Monday, December 7 our beloved Justin Skrebowski was killed in Abingdon.

"He was an optimistic and forward looking man, a deeply caring husband and a very proud and loving father to his children.

"It seems very hard that such a kind and caring individual should be snatched away from his family and friends in such a terrible way.

"The family greatly appreciates all the concern and sympathy expressed by the public and the media.

"As we are all in deep shock and distress, we would now appreciate a quiet period of mourning."
