Sir – Your letters column is littered every week with complaints about developments planned or taking place.

There are also countless reports about the same thing, which include many objections on grounds of over-development, etc (aka nimbyism). I would simply draw readers’ attention to the fact that only seven per cent of the UK is classed as ‘urban’ and 50 per cent of that is actually green space.
