Plans for a 60-bed care home in Cowley Road to replace a 92-year-old East Oxford timber yard will be discussed today.
Oxford City Council’s east area planning committee will decide on outline plans for the new 60-bed care home over three floors and 20 car parking spaces.
The site is currently the home of timber merchant and hardware shop WG Powell, which has been trading since 1923, but is set to close after growing competition from larger businesses.
The application is recommended for approval. The committee will meet at 6pm at the Town Hall, St Aldate’s, and the meeting is open to the public.
