PHOTOGRAPHER Youssef Sida is excited to be hosting his first solo show at the Phoenix Picturehouse.

Born in Cairo, the 26-year-old’s show is entitled Lives of the Many Few and features a series of interrelated images spanning four countries.

Officially a freelance photographer since 2012, Mr Sida said: “I was introduced to photography at an early age — it really began with fishing trips to Scottish lakes and lochs.

“After a few years without holding a camera, the love for photography was reignited through solo projects, and the support of family and friends.”

Mr Youssef, who lives in Oxford, said when he was a boy he would often admire his grandfather’s camera, during trips to his homeland in Egypt.

He felt honoured when, during his teens, the camera was passed to him after his grandfather died.

The photographer moved to the city in 2011 with his family and now considers it to be his home.

The show will be held on Saturday from 7.30pm to10.30pm at the cinema in Walton Street.

Entry is free.
