A CHARITY shop has received a tonne of donations in preparation for a new campaign it hopes will make this weekend the busiest of the year so far.
Sue Ryder in Kidlington has launched its FAB campaign – Fill A Bag – where shoppers can buy a £3 or £5 bag and fill it with whatever they find in the store providing it fits in the carrier.
According to staff, a £5 bag could get you up to 10 skirts, 25 medium-sized novels or three full outfits for a night out or special occasion.
The shop, in High Street, is the first in the country to offer the scheme – which began on Monday – and is expected to draw in the crowds this weekend.
Store manager Lauren Gardner[COR] said: “The shop relaunch has been great and we are expecting huge crowds.
“Brits love a bargain at the best of times but considering the difficult economic climate we think some people might rush to this as you could get a whole family’s clothes shopping done for a fiver.
“To my knowledge, this shop is the first of its kind to run on this concept.
Assistant manager Marie Timms, 21, from Woodstock, who has been at the store for nine months, added: “It began on Monday and we are getting a lot of positive feedback about it.
“We had a van full of new stock and we are still receiving new stock.”
