OXFORDSHIRE'S Alexis Canter teamed up with fellow Briton Finn Bass to advance to the second round of the boys' doubles at Wimbledon today.
They beat Emil Reinberg and Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-6(4) on Court 16.
Canter and Bass will play the winners of Reilly Opelka/Akira Santillan and Corentin Denolly/Johan Nikles, who play tomorrow.
The first six games went with serve, before Reinberg double faulted to hand the Brits the advantage at 4-3.
However, Reinberg made amends a game later as a magnificent lob put Bass's serve under pressure and a double of his own handed the break back for 4-4.
But Canter and Bass hit straight back, before the former held his nerve to serve out the first set 6-4.
The second was as competitive as the first and the British pair were forced to win the hard way.
After recovering from 3-0 down, Canter saved two set points on his serve to force a tie-break.
They then dominated the breaker, storming into a 5-3 lead and two missed forehands from Reinberg saw them over the line.
Canter said: "I'm so happy.
"We played really well together.
"We saved a few set points with some big serves and that is good for the rest of the tournament.
"It's going to be great playing again - it's such an amazing atmosphere at Wimbledon."
