Thieves broke into a village pub and smashed open a fruit machine to steal the cash inside this morning.
The burglars broke in through a small side window at the Harvester pub in Kidlington at about 4.40am. It is believed they left via a fire exit that leads out to the main car park.
Pc Phillip Lees said: "I am hoping that someone may have witnessed the break in as the window they jemmied open overlooks Bicester Road. Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious is asked to contact me."
Anyone who has any information can contact Pc Lees at Kidlington police station via 08458 505505. If you do not want to talk to police and do not want to give your name, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
