THE tiny tots who won the Oxford Mail Baby of the Year competition back in 2012 probably did not recognise each other at a recent reunion.

Isabella Charlett was just six months old when she scored the most reader votes to come out top in the competition out of 446 entries.

Now a lively three-year-old, Isabella is keeping her mum Daisy Fleetwood, of Headington, Oxford, very busy.

The mum-of-one, 27, a medical secretary at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, said: “Isabella is a happy, funny and very active little girl.

“She’s a typical three-year-old – she knows what she wants and how to get it.

“She loves dancing and does ballet and tap classes.

“She also likes playing with her friends, going to the park and taking our pet dog Ruby for walks.”

Isabella’s smiley baby photo won them a £1,000 holiday from Flight Centre, a family ticket to Legoland, a trophy and a framed print of the winning photo.

Runner-up Carlito McMahon-Thomas was 14 months old when he competed in the 19-36 month category.

Now aged four, it seems the competition might have inspired an early interest in modelling.

His mum Sasha McMahon, 27, of Cowley, said: “He is a little bit vain. He takes great care of his appearance. He loves trying clothes on, looking in the mirror and having his photo taken – he’s very funny.

“He’s a happy child, he’s doing really well. He also enjoys swimming, reading books and playing with other children.”

Harry Trueman was a runner-up in the 0-9 month category in 2012 but then little sister Victoria came along and surpassed his record by coming out top in the competition two years later, aged one.

According to parents Katy and Andrew Trueman, of Cowley Road, Littlemore, there are no signs of sibling rivalry over the competition results yet between Harry, now aged three, and Victoria, aged two.

Mrs Trueman, 35, said: “They love each other and get on very well. The competition was just a bit of fun and I don’t think there’s going to be any sibling rivalry – although Victoria’s trophy is a bit bigger than Harry’s.

“They are very happy children. They both love playing outdoors and going for walks.”

Jenson Goodgame, now aged five, was a runner-up in the 19-36 month category.

He lives with mum Vicki Purbrick and dad Dylan Goodgame in Merewood Avenue, Sandhills, Oxford, and is a Year One pupil at Sandhills Primary School.

Ms Purbrick, 36, who is studying at Oxford Brookes University for a degree in early childhood studies, said: “He’s doing really well at school with reading and writing. He enjoys swimming and karate. He’s got a good sense of humour and is quite a joker but he’s also a very caring child.”
