A man is in custody awaiting trial after a cyclist was attacked in Station Road.

Two men were said to have kicked Tomasz Gumulka in the head on March 24 as he was on his way home from work.

Police said the attackers also stamped on Mr Gumulka’s bike and threw it into a nearby bush and threw the victim’s backpack onto the adjacent railway track, before walking off towards the roundabout.

Martin Rendell, 24, of Prestwick Burn, Didcot, pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He is due to appear in Oxford Crown Court on May 8.

A 21-year-old man from Didcot was also arrested in connection with the attack and has been rebailed until Friday.
