SOMETIMES, when you’ve had a difficult start in life, all you need is a little bit of love.

And That’s exactly what staff at Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary hope homes across the county can provide for the influx of kittens and cats they’ve had as the weather hots up.

The centre, based in Stadhampton, is now looking to rehome 74 cats and more than 10 kittens, and well as 60 dogs, six rabbits, five baby rabbits and two guinea pigs.

Going nose to nose with one of their young charges, assistant warden Aaron Denton said: “We are certainly not seeing fewer animals here. The demand is just as high as ever. Right now it’s that lovely time of year with kittens, so we are inundated with pregnant mums and orphaned kittens.”

He said that was not a case of animal cruelty, but pet owners not being responsible and not getting their animals neutered.
