Proposals to ban lorries from overtaking on the A34 is not enough to fix the problems road users experience.
In reality it is just a sticking plaster over the giant crack of congestion, crashes and more.
And it depends on getting approval from Highways England and being properly enforced. Meanwhile, the crashes and the queues will continue.
What is needed is major investment, to be spent on an extra lane or a bypass depending on the results of thorough research and planning.
Only then will the A34 stop being blighted by problems.
