A 10-year-old girl was robbed by three women in an alleyway in East Oxford, police said.
Officers said the women, in their late teens, pushed, kicked and swore at the girl before grabbing her bag, spilling her packed lunch over the ground.
The attack was between 8am and 9am on Saturday in the alleyway between East Avenue and Chapel Street.
A woman called to the victim in what police said appeared to be an attempt to help her and the attackers ran off when a second woman entered the alleyway.
Police said the three attackers were about 18 or 19 years old and the first woman is white with short blonde hair. She was wearing jeans and a flowery top.
The second teenager is white, of medium build and with long blonde hair.
The final girl is tanned, of medium build and with short brown hair.
