WE ARE grateful to your correspondents for highlighting the need to keep solar panels on the new council homes at Bury Knowle. We have had a rethink and Oxford City Council will now make sure the solar panels will stay and provide renewable electricity to each of the 10 new council houses.
To shrink Oxford’s carbon footprint and tackle fuel poverty the city council wants to encourage solar panels wherever we can. We hope all local residents will recognise that a 20 per cent minimum of renewable energy for new buildings in Oxford makes sense now and in the future.
