THE county looks set to be bursting with eggs-citement over the Easter weekend with all sorts of eggs-traordinary events.

Tomorrow sees the return of the annual Good Friday Walk in Radley, near Abingdon, for the 53rd year.

The tradition began as a bet over a pint between villagers Jack Parsons and George Steptoe over who could walk the 13-miles to Oxford and back in the fastest time.

Last year almost didn’t go ahead due to a lack of volunteers, but friends Tracie Guntert and Carina Coppock stepped in to save it and have continued their support this year.

Ms Coppock, 29, who now lives in North Abingdon, said: “We just thought it would be such a shame for it to stop and wanted to save it as it's always been a Radley tradition.”

The walk starts at the Bowyer Arms in Foxborough Road at 10am, with a shorter version also on offer.
