The county’s roads have been given nearly £13m in a Government cash boost.
It’s part of a Government contribution to help improve local roads infrastructure, which has been awarded to local authorities based on the strength of its bid.
In Oxfordshire the £12.95m will be used to strengthen the county’s roads’ resilience to water and traffic damage, according to the Department for Transport.
The scheme will identify the cause of flooding and drainage problems and use sustainable techniques to deal with them, the department said.
Part of the money will also be spent on new street lighting.
