Olympic gold medallist Dr Katherine Grainger will officially be made Chancellor of Oxford Brookes at an inauguration ceremony today.
The British rower, who won gold at the London 2012 Olympics, will replace human rights activist Shami Chakrabarti.
Dr Chakrabarti will attend the ceremony, as well as Channel 4 broadcaster Jon Snow, who was Chancellor from 2001-2008, and barrister Baroness Helena Kennedy QC, who held the role from 1994 to 2001.
Dr Grainger said: “I can’t wait to get started as Chancellor in this momentous 150th anniversary year for Oxford Brookes and be a part of the future of this fantastic institution.”
