CONGRATULATIONS to the police and social workers who have helped to convict another six men for sexually abusing young girls in Oxfordshire (March 7). The message is going out loud and clear that abuse, rape, and forced prostitution of young girls and women is never acceptable.
Whatever the mistakes and failings of the past, the authorities seem to have got their act together now.
The Kingfisher Team of social workers and police officers is identifying and disrupting grooming on the streets. The team is putting the criminals behind bars.
It is no good placing some women on a pedestal and treating others as worthless.
To prey on vulnerable girls and teenagers is despicable, cruel and perverted. Anyone who suspects that child sexual abuse is going on should contact the Kingfisher Team on 01865 335276.
Each girl and young woman in Oxfordshire is precious and deserves respect. Anyone who thinks otherwise has no place in our society.
Well done to our hard working police and social workers.
