FESTIVAL fever will hit Florence Park in Oxford for the third time this year as families soak up the summer sunshine.

Organisers of this year’s Flofest are busy preparing for the outdoor fiesta, set to take place on Saturday, June 20.

Last year about 4,000 residents descended on the 1930s park for an afternoon of fun and frolics. Lead organiser Alan Brown said: “Flofest is important because Florence Park is a community that is worth celebrating, it is a place that is worth celebrating.

“It’s just important that we are able to make our mark and top that off with another outdoor festival.’’

Organisers have revealed the summer event, which will take place between 11am and 5pm, will include a music arena, family cabaret stage and outdoor food court.

Visitors can also enjoy the talents of their canine companions during a dog show, as well as indulging in treats on offer at a community market. And the Pitt Rivers Museum will join the event, with its educational tent.
