DRIVERS are facing delays this morning following a crash on Oxford’s Eastern bypass.

Traffic is slow after one lane was closed on the southbound carriageway between the Headington roundabout and Horspath Driftway.

The bypass is now fully reopened and traffic is easing.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Rhianne Pope said a VW Golf and a Ford Galaxy were involved and a woman was treated at the scene for a foot inury. 

Michelle Archer from South Central Ambulance Service said one person was taken to hospital for treatment to a back injury.

Oxford Bus Company has said its U5X services is being diverted through Headington and its 9 services will go direct to Thornhill Park&Ride, and pick up only at the Risinghurst turn on the A40.

The bus company said it is experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes on services operating in the Headington area. 

Traffic approaching Didcot has also been held up by a broken-down vehicle at the Mendip Heights roundabout on the A4130.
