A MOTHER left devastated after flooding says Thames Water have still not settled a £2,000 bill for her family’s hotel accommodation during the clean-up.

Mandy Blessing’s Normandy Crescent, Cowley, home was one of the 27 houses flooded after a water main burst on September 23. Mother-of-two Mrs Blessing has stayed at The Oxford Hotel, in Godstow Road, for two-and-a-half weeks and her family have now moved into temporary accommodation.

But when she left yesterday, she said Thames Water had still not paid a bill of more than £2,000 that it had promised it would.

The NHS administrator said she had to leave her debit card details because Thames Water failed to provide confirmation of payment to hotel managers.

Thames Water said: “Our loss adjuster confirmed to the Oxford Hotel yesterday that the cost of Mandy Blessing’s stay there would be covered.

“The only reason they can think of that she would have been asked for card details is if that message wasn’t relayed internally at the hotel or if she and her family used services or goods not covered by the arrangement.”
