Iffley Road in Oxford was closed following a police incident at about 4.30pm yesterday.

Officers responded to an emergency call about concerns for a woman’s welfare at a house.

The road was shut in both directions between Aston and Henley Street and about nine police vehicles and an ambulance attended.

The closure caused serious traffic delays and both the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach were forced to divert some of their services.
