HATS off to the team behind the Oxford Mail’s special supplement to mark the anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.
It was a first class example of local journalism at its best and a tribute to months of dedication and hard work behind the scenes – planning, research, design, production, photography and writing.
We hear and read much these days about declining standards in British journalism and the heavy pressures newspapers face from other sources such as radio, television and social media but the Mail’s Oxfordshire at War showed that good, solid local journalism is still alive and kicking in our community. Keep up the good work. Three cheers to the Oxford Mail – and trebles all round.
