The Prime Minister, when questioned regarding the money sent to other countries, said we are a very rich country and can afford it.

So why is it that there is no funding to cut back the vegetation overgrowing the cycle track from Wheatley to Headington?

I have written and emailed my member of parliament, I have contacted South Oxfordshire District Council, my local councillor is doing her utmost to get funding from this very rich government to no avail.

The answer to all is ‘sorry no funding’.

The city council was reported to have excess funding for cycle paths in the city, and was asking for ideas to spend it. So tongue in cheek, as I am not a city dweller, I contacted the councillor, and suggested if he had money to spare could he in anyway put some forward, to get this vegetation cut for us, the users of the cycle track. He contacted me and explained that the unspent money had been pledged for work that was to be completed later.

A lot of people use the path and cycle track, children cycling to school, some people going to work, or college, or shopping in Headington.

I myself use it to get to the hospitals. I have four visits this month at present.

The vegetation is a health hazard and some has thorns and brambles in it that could cause nasty injuries. I have a mobility scooter and have to take great care along the track.

Why is there no funding for the cycle track that is next to the dual carriageway? Any of us that use the track would be very foolish to go along the road in all that traffic.

I hope that no one gets hurt cycling along the track or I can see someone being sued for compensation and having to foot a large bill.
