IF COLLECTABLE vinyl floats your boat, then Luke Guilford’s river record store will be worth a visit.
The 39-year-old quit his London job as a librarian earlier this year to run The Record Deck from his boat Tashtar.
His journey has this week brought him to Oxford where he moored up to sell from the towpath by Hythe Bridge Street.
He said: “It is working really well when the sun shines. You cannot really get them out in the rain.
“If record addicts see a sign with ‘vinyl for sale’ they cannot help but have a look.”
His platters include anything from blues to folk and he said: “If I can get two years travelling the canal then that would be great.”
The Record Deck – which has travelled through London and Birmingham since June – will be moored in Cropredy from Wednesday for the village’s annual folk festival, Fairport’s Cropredy Convention.
