Jayden trial: Blakeley's co-accused says: I don't want to think about what happened

THE 17-year-old who helped Ben Blakeley hide the body of his ex-girlfriend Jayden Parkinson told a jury he doesn’t want to think about what he was involved in.

Today the teenager was cross examined in Oxford Crown Court and asked in detail about December 5, when Jayden Parkinson’s body was buried in a ditch near Upton.

Richard Latham QC said after digging the makeshift grave with his co-defendant, the 17-year-old was told to go and wait where he couldn’t see the hole.

The barrister asked the youth how the scene looked when he was allowed to return.

Mr Latham said: “(Jayden’s body) would be enough to fill up a significant portion of the hole.”

The witness said: “I wouldn't know.”

Mr Latham told him: “Well think about it.”

The defendant - who cannot be named because of his age, said: “To be honest I don't really want to think about it.”

The barrister said: “Well you have to think about it, because this concerns the death of a young girl who did not deserve to die.

The teenager replied: No, she didn't.”

The trial continues.
