VAN Coulter talks a lot of sense in his letter of June 17.

I have read that Kidlington Parish Council has distanced itself from recent speculative reports regarding development around our village and has “decided by a large majority not to object to the Cherwell Local Plan which is to be approved as quickly as possible”.

Van Coulter talks of the economy and the need for development to sustain it. I am not an advocate of destroying Green Belt, but a building programme for affordable housing designed around a robust forecast has to be the way forward.

Once it has been determined how many new houses need to be built in our area it’s up to the local councils to find the required space for that to happen.
