PLEASE, please can you ask the county council why the ‘hamburger’ roundabout at Kennington will take six whole months to complete.
This is a joke.
Our roads are so jammed already. Instead of just accepting it and writing your story, why don’t you get the authorities to justify it? After sitting in traffic jams Friday and Saturday before the main work begins, we need to be demanding this work be carried out quicker. I appreciate this work might help in the long-term although I think the slip road onto the A34 is a good enough solution as the ‘hamburgers’, in my view, do little, just maybe move the jams on quicker.
Oxford’s shops may as well shut for six months as the roads will be so gridlocked it won’t be worth opening. We need to ask if 24-hour working will be happening, the cost to Oxford’s economy will be massive.
Please just ask why six months? Why should we just be prepared to waste our lives sat in traffic?
