DOES the BBC really have to show so many violent film clips that just demonstrate it’s OK to punch another human being? Mark Kermode, presenter of film review on BBC Breakfast, was positively enthusing about the violence in a clip from the film Wolverine.

I am sure there are other ways of portraying the spiritual side of this film without the need for an aggressive script.

Youngsters pick up bad habits as they see it OK to act aggressively violent to others. No small wonder there is so much ill feeling in our world.

Film makers would do more good and get bigger audiences if they promoted love and kindness among the characters.

But for the BBC to give these obnoxious films any air time is not good for the company or its viewers.
