Sir – The feature on Oxford cinemas (We live in a city of cinemas, First Person, May 15) lists a total of four, including a city centre Odeon.
In fact we have two establishments where “Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation”, making the total five.
More intriguingly, a study is cited which asserts cinema-going’s beneficial effect on the mortality rate.
The last time that I checked, this rate was firmly stuck at 100%, regardless of one’s habits or vices.
