Sir – Farmer John Hook is proposing a cable car system between Oxford and Witney to relieve congestion on this busy road (Report, May 8).
But the local MP, Mr David Cameron said, in his 2010 campaign leaflet, that he would press to make the whole of the A40 between Oxford and Witney a dual-carriageway.
I haven’t yet seen the work starting on this but presumably it will be soon.
