I HOPE every reader will use their vote in the elections on May 22. Everyone’s opinion counts.
This time we have two votes. In the European Parliament elections every single vote counts because of the proportional system. In the city council elections, issues of housing, recycling, parking, green spaces and the rest, touch the lives of us all.
People tell me if you don’t vote, you can’t complain. However, of course, in a democracy everyone can complain. What is true is that politicians tend to listen harder to people who vote.
Cllr JOHN TANNER (Labour)
Board member for a Cleaner, Greener Oxford, city councillor for Littlemore and county councillor for Isis Sunningwell Road Oxford
