Sir – I am writing to ask Oxford United to explain why they have ‘moved the goalposts’ with their ‘rebranding’ of season ticket prices next season — eg South Stand Lower now being spun as ‘club’ level prices.
For a team which has provided woeful home performances, why are my family facing a 19 per cent rise in our season ticket costs at all?

More importantly, why has Oxford United chosen to do away with under-11 and under-16 prices in all but the ‘family area’ (should read: ‘the worst seats’) — my nine- and 11-year-old are now paying (as ‘concessions’) the same prices as wealthy pensioners and under-17 students.
The club has long held a ‘family club’ badge of honour, but I don’t feel it deserves this any longer, with price rises hitting the young and families the worse.
The only adult seats not rising in price are those in the East Stand — the most vocal/politicised part of the ground . . .
Furthermore, the bias against young fans also runs contrary to season ticket recommendations numbers 2, 4 and 5 as provided by OxVox.
I would like the club to reconsider children’s prices, otherwise I for one will be actively saying that they are not a family club — it simply is not true in light of the new pricing structure which hits the young and families.
