Sir – Ken Weavers, in his rather startling letter about God and infinities (Infinitely Capable, April 10), claims that a God creator of the universe, being infinite: ‘in his infinitude, would easily cope with simultaneously looking after every single individual on this planet, as well as the many more who may live on distant planets’.
I would prefer to think about how the universe started at some point without imagining a sadistic creator personally allowing the disasters that occur to too many people.
