HERE’S one music ensemble which doesn’t need much of a fanfare.
Abbey Brass Band is taking part in a concert with a local choral society to raise money for charity. The band, which has around 30 players, will be taking part in the show along with Abingdon Operatic Society.
Cornet player Paul Heast said: “We have got quite a broad repertoire of music. It is music we have been putting together for the summer. There will be a few marches and a few solo pieces.
“It will be quite an interesting programme.”
The concert is taking place at Abingdon School on May 17 at 7.30pm.
It will raise money for young people’s charity Abingdon Bridge, which provides support and advice to youngsters in the area.
