I WOULD like to thank all those who came to Mini Plant Oxford, last Sunday, to help celebrate the Montego’s 30th birthday.

It was good to see each and every one of you. More than 20 Maestros and Montegos attended – a couple were local people who still use the cars as their daily form of transport.

We were particularly lucky to have been joined by Nicolette McKenzie, the lady who gave her voice to the talking dash in both models. I thought your readers might like to see a photograph of her sat in the only MG Montego with a digital dash that is still on the road. I have also attached a photo of our Montego Birthday cake in ‘clove brown’, although it wasn’t clove-flavoured, but a delicious chocolate cake, below.

Oxford Mail:

Refreshments were free of charge at our event. However, there was a donation tin for Cancer Research UK, Mini Plant Oxford’s current charity, and £68.23 was donated throughout the day.

Finally, I would like to thank Mini Plant Oxford for the loan of their facilities to enable us to hold this event there, and also for the two convoys which I have started from the plant during April.

It is lovely for both car enthusiasts, former employees and the general public to be able to visit the plant and celebrate all things Cowley.
