ON February 17 this year, I was travelling from Reading, via Goring, to Woodcote along the Icknield Road, when I hit a large pothole resulting in two punctured tyres. I applied to Oxfordshire County Council for compensation and received a reply to say that they were unable to pay as the road had “Road Closed” signs since January 28.
There were no signs on any of the approach roads, otherwise I would have taken a different route.
I am unfamiliar with the area and I am writing to ask if any of your readers would be able to confirm the absence of any signs in order for me to appeal the decision.
