Sir – The photograph showing the tranquil green space between the the two buildings of the Wavy Gate development in East Oxford in your recent article created a pleasant impression of what is by any standards an unimaginative and ugly lump of real estate.
In no way does this development enhance the environment for local residents. If anything it offers less interest and benefit to locals than the previous building supply business did.
The current frontage is beyond dull and suggests neglect and lack of consideration for folk who live in the area. I dread to think what this development has done for those households which find themselves on the backside of this carbuncle.
The developers and planners have missed an opportunity to do something imaginative for East Oxford and have let us down.
