Sir – Forty-five years ago, I and others campaigned against “beauty contests” because of their exclusive focus on women’s bodies, especially their breasts.
Clearly we made little impression: ironically, a competitor has now been excluded from the Miss Oxfordshire competition because she posted a picture showing parts of her breasts — in aid of breast cancer awareness Model thrown out of beauty contest for charity topless photo on Internet (Report, April 17).
