A two-week summer playscheme in 1984 ended in style with a street festival. Willow Road was closed for a day of festivities which were enjoyed by many. Sweet-toothed John Jones, 13, and his sister Susan, 15, sampled their home-made cakes.
The 1984 village festival included rides for children in this cage held aloft by a crane. For those not keen on heights, there were activities nearer the ground, such as jumping on inflatables and trampolines.
- The 1983 festival in the village was just as exciting. Youngsters are pictured enjoying a ride on a huge airbed.
