JEANETTE Baker has been elected as the next mayor of Witney.
The current deputy mayor will take over from Peter Dorward at the annual council meeting on May 7 after she was unanimously voted in by fellow members.
She has lived in Witney for more than 40 years and was elected to the town council three years ago.
Mrs Baker is also a Conservative member of West Oxfordshire District Council after being elected last year.
