CONSERVATIVE candidate Stephen Harrod topped the polls at the Chalgrove and Watlington by-election yesterday.
Mr Harrod claimed the Oxfordshire County Council seat in with 871 votes.
Lib Dem’s Susan Cooper came second with 629 votes, while UKIPs candidate – Gavin Craig – beat Labour’s Paul Collins with 311 votes to 159 and the Green Party candidate Colin Tudge received 116 votes.
The seat was held by Conservative Caroline Newton who stood down earlier this year.
