Sir – Somewhat belatedly I would like to thank the man who dived into the River Cherwell on the afternoon of Sunday, June 30, last year to save a stupid tourist who had fallen from a punt and was thrashing around in the water.
The tourist was me and being unable to swim I was panicking.
I am enormously grateful to the stranger who saw my predicament and selflessly dived in to help me.
If the individual contacts the paper, I would be happy to send him a video of my falling from the punt which, in retrospect, is quite amusing, although at the time the scariest experience of my life.
