I SHOULD like the chance to respond to Paul Marlow’s letter (February 28) regarding my letter earlier in the week regarding the maintenance of the surface of London Road.
He obviously had not read my original lead letter several months earlier, complaining about the potholes.
I would like to tell him that this recent letter was written and sent before the news was published that work would commence later this year.
I can tell Mr Marlow, that on discovering this was eventually to happen, I did not join the intended protest, which had been arranged by the Liberal Democrat councillors, as, of course, as he suggested, it was irrelevant now.
It is very good news that these repairs will now improve this very important route into Oxford and I only hope that during the year, other minor roads locally which affect my particular community, such as Kiln Lane and Downside Road, plus other local Oxfordshire roads, will be treated as well.
