I REFER to the two excellent letters from David Williams and Glynis Phillips concerning the state of the London Road.

I agree that bus and taxi companies could contribute to the upkeep of not only the London Road but all bus lanes in the city.

As for the protest march, my wife and I were committed to support this until enlightened by Glynis Phillips’s letter that it was the Lib Dems who were behind it and they blocked a motion at a council meeting to give the repairs priority.

It seems to me that the Lib Dem county councillors are as two-faced as their colleagues in the coalition – saying one thing in public and doing another in private.

Look at the U-turns on student fees and a referendum on the EU.

Hopefully this inept shower, who have been shown unsuitable for any form of government, will be voted out at the next bout of elections both local, county, European and national.
